Welcome to the collections of my blissful imperfections

Future, the word is an interesting wordplay. At once your father asks "Why don't you ever think about your future ? " At another instance your friend mocks you of thinking too much about it. Well, i guess the trick resides between too little and too much  the same way our present resides between our past and the future !!

The Beginning | Howard University

May 9, 2019
It's still vivid on my mind when i first arrived here in States for my undergraduate studies. The evening of August 14th, 2015 , I along with two other friends cum roommates  landed to this land of dreams. My uncle picked us up from Dulles Airport and we went to his place in Virginia; tried to have some sleep to overcome the jet-lag. My first time on jet and i took a big leap of two approximately 18 hours of  flight time( 4 hours from Kathmandu to Dubai, 7 hours from Dubai to Amsterdam and 7 from Amsterdam to Washington) not to forget layover of another 7 over Amsterdam.   And very next day, we caught the train straight to DC, and reached Howard thanks to the GPS and also to the people who gave us directions and inst ructions on the train.

Obviously, i was as excited as i could be. I grew up as a Harry Potter fan and was always fascinated  by the British and American schooling system of being completely  away from parents and taking each decision on your own; complete summer break and last but  not least having different building and hall names based on certain people mostly. Although Harry Potter was a complete fiction with existence of magical world, it more or less planted on my mind how overall schools or colleges systems are here in United States and England .  The feeling of starting a college in United States which i noticed later that ,was my desire from early age within my subconscious mind. So i was over the moon.
We had almost  arranged our housing from Nepal already. After the orientation, we called our prospective landlord and went straight to see the place which was probably 5 miles away from the campus with public bus and metro accessible. That might not have been the best bet looking back now but that was the best option for us at that time and we agreed for the lease. since the landlord was familiar with Nepal , which is very rare down here in DC, it was obviously a plus. And yes like that,  journey of Howard for next four years/eight semesters  embarked.
